My 4D Experience at Crown Regency

My 4D Experience at Crown Regency

On my 27th Birthday, Angel and I have decided to spend it at one of Cebu’s highest tower right now, Crown Regency. We’ve been there for a number of times already but this time, we want to try their day tripper promo that entitles the bearer for a free pool assess, eat all you can buffet at the Restaurant, one ride to either of the ride and a 4D experience in their theater.

We went there at almost 10 o’clock in the morning but we had a hard time figuring out what elevator to take to go to the 36th floor, since it’s where we are going to pay for the promo. The security guards do not know their own protocol or don’t have any idea about the promo at all. So we have to transfer from one building to another just to ask on where we really are going. Was so pissed off, it seems because we don’t look like foreigners we were treated that way? I hope not!

We paid for the day tripper trip and was given the ticket that has our meal stubs, ticket for the ride and the theater and access to the pool area, though we don’t have the key to activate the elevator just in case we want to go to the lower floors where the pool was located. Fortunately, one of the hotel crew was with us in the elevator so we reached the level where the pool was located. They do have a nice view of the city from the pool side, but unfortunately it was under renovation, we were not advised nor were we offered to use the indoor pool that is functional. Hmpft! Another bad experience in this trip.

I have to brush it aside in order not to spoil my day. So we decided to have lunch while waiting for the rides to open at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The food was mediocre, not bad but not excellent either, there’s nothing special to the dishes served. So we just feasted our eyes on the sight of the city surrounding the tower and rested for a while before we explore the rides.

We decided to try the 4D Theater first. This one, I have to say was the excellent part of the trip. It was my first time to experience the 4D and I have to say, it got me screaming during the part that rats came out on the screen with synchronize air blown below your legs giving you a feeling that real rats are really in the area or snakes hissing and spitting there venom with water coming from the front part of your seat. I was scared! Though the movie was short but I love it!

So off we go to the rides. I’ve tried the edge coaster and the skywalk, but I find the edge coaster scarier so we chose to have it instead of the skywalk (the wall climb and the zipline at this time were not yet ready). So we chose to experience the edge coaster again, this time, we planned to have the edge coaster individually so that we get to have lots of pictures in the ride and instead of buying the ones taken by their crew.

Unwinding at the heart of the City

Unwinding at the heart of the City

Right at the heart of Cebu Business Park is a world-class hotel, that house mostly businessmen and employees of multinational companies in conference and seminars. Just recently Marriot Hotel has re-invented its facade to a sophisticated modern style living.

I have always like there interiors. the staff are accommodating even for locals like us. And the food? They have the best eat all you can breakfast buffet among other hotels that I have tried. Just thinking of there food spread all over the place from cuisine all over the globe, makes my mouth water. Lots of choices are offered and i just wished I have enough place in my stomach to cater to all these menu.

Right beside there restaurant is a pool. And even if its beside the walk way of Ayala Center, you'll still have the privacy to enjoy lounging and relaxing in their pool area.

Over all the place is worth the price. And they also offer discounts, especially for the locals who want to unwind, right at the heart of a business area.

Maribago Bluewater Summer Escapade

Maribago Bluewater Summer Escapade

During a summer not so long time ago, we decided to have a beach trip to cool off the heat. It was a beach tripper package at Maribago bluewaters. The package already included buffet lunch and free use of their amenities for the price of Php 800, if I remember it right.

They have friendly and welcoming staff. And the food was great, it was an eat all you can buffet. With great tasting food and the opportunity to get all you want until you're too full to eat some more, what else would you wish for?

To maximize our time, we rented a banana boat. It was a blast especially with one crazy driver, and I'll just call her Osh. We made lots of fall but every fall is such a thrill wanting us to have more. And the company was great, very willing to enjoy the day.

This was one of the many summer memories that I cherish. Looking forward to have another escapade like this soon..

Cebu on the 37th floor

Cebu on the 37th floor

In the heart of Cebu City, stands a towering building that is 40 stories high, the tallest hotel tower in the country. With its dancing lights that we sometimes see even when we're outside the city. The Edge coaster and the Sky Walk is the attraction of Crown Regency, its the 1st in the Philippines and in the world is always worth a try.

I've been to the place several times bringing friends and letting them experience the same thrill that I had during my first visit. Either seeing the view of Cebu at 360 degrees with the added thrill of viewing it tilted at 45 degrees or walking the path at the building's outer rim with only a rope to guide and support you is breath taking. With the city lights actively lighted up for us to see the beauty of Cebu at night.

The price is right for the excitement that it offers. The challenge is too easy for the dare devils but a good start to those who want to experience some adrenaline rush. And I'm looking forward for their 3rd attraction which is expected to open anytime this year. And by that time I'll be back late afternoon to see the sun setting in the horizon.

A Man - Made Paradise

A Man - Made Paradise

Another resort that's giving Cebu pride is Plantation Bay Resort in Maribago, Mactan Island. Home of man-made lagoons and islands. The resort has very friendly staff that even for locals, you'll still feel welcome.

When we went there it was a day tripper package. This includes either a lunch or dinner and the use of their amenities. Lounge chairs and cottages are available to keep your things in one place.

Lots of activities are available free for use. There recreation room includes a ping pong table, computers with internet connection, some darts and arcade games. We also tried touring the resort using their bikes, wall climbing and archery. And one of the first things I've done was firing, though this one is not for free.

Swimming in the man-made lagoon won't intimidate the non-swimmers since the water is shallow. The deep part that has a diving board is bounded by some rocks and has signs informing us that we are near the deep part of the water. Its really safe, even for kids.

The food is delicious. And just right with the price. On a separate time, I had dinner in one of their restaurants, my favorite was their lobster and tempura. Really tasty. And I'm looking forward to tasting it again.

You can either ride a cab, a public utility vehicle or a private vehicle. Its very accessible. And before visiting the place i suggest to give them a call and ask for any promos to enjoy some discounts.

Summer Get-away I Cant Forget

Summer Get-away I Cant Forget

A year ago, we were privileged to book a cheaper flight to Boracay. Having been there before any of my companions, I was in-charge of our accommodation. I booked it at Boracay Courtyard, a sister company of La Carmela de Boracay. It's not fronting the white sand beach but we are allowed to hang out at La Carmela which is fronting the shore. Amenities of La Carmela are also free for use including their swimming pool. So its like we were booked in La Carmela and just paying half the price. Our accommodation already includes meals, from breakfast until dinner.

Seeing the long stretch of white beach already excites me. Being a beach bum myself nothing satisfies me but seeing the blue skies, white sand and the calm seas right in front of my eyes. The sand are really fine, Cebu may have white sand beach but the fineness of Boracay's sand is different.

We've walked the three kilometers of white sand beach for almost three days without signs of getting tired of seeing the same thing. Everyday the sun would set and everyday we look forward to seeing it. I just envy the locals, for having such a beautiful place to wake up to everyday single day. How I wish to live here all my life.

Getting ready for summer

Getting ready for Summer

It's February and I'm starting to feel the summer heat! Another busy time for me as I plot my summer get-away. No excuses to stay at home and keeping a fair skin tone because its time to get some tan!

Here are some reminders before we go out and enjoy the summer sun:

1. Never leave the house without a sunblock. Just a misconception about sunblocks, it doesn't keep your fair skin tone, but it just protects you from the UV rays, that is harmful. But anyway, I really don't care much about being fair skinned in the first place, because TAN is in! :D

2. Drink lots of water. Avoid dehydration and its one way of keeping our skin healthy.

3. Wear your sunglasses. It protects you from the sun's harmful rays and at the same time lessen crow's feet or wrinkles near the eyes. (Remember, when its to bright we tend to close our eyes, causing some wrinkles in the eyes, and doing this frequently causes crow's feet at an early age)

4. Loose clothing. Nobody wants to feel uncomfortable in a very classy cloth. So leave those ill fitting clothes and wear clothes that feel comfortable, short short, spaghetti straps and tube tops are alright as long as you don't look slutty...

5. Slippers. Or if you are in a white sand beach, barefoot. Its comfortable, and having the sand underneath those tired feet can exfoliate and gets rid of those dead skin.

6. A Camera. How else can you share and keep those memories of a great summer get-away than taking a picture of it! Glad that I just got my new camera just in time for summer.... :D

Have fun under the sun!

Where ever you are in Metro Cebu, a towering building located in the mountains of Nivel Hills is always visible, the Marco Polo Hotel Cebu. It has a panoramic view of Cebu City and the near by Mactan Island. It has been in the island for more than a decade carrying a different name, but the reputation of a world class hotel has always been there trademark.

Luckily for us, we were able to avail of a cheaper room rate, due to the holiday season at that time. So it is always advised to ask for available promotions in any hotels, especially if you're planning to stay in any hotel for a day or two. Greeted with extravagant crystal chandelier and a very spacious lobby, you know you're in for some world class pampering.

Having chosen a sea view room, our scenery was a spectacle especially when the sun was about to set, because the sky has now been turned into a beautiful artwork of different shades and colors. And the streetlights are starting to light up, making the city look livelier.Fireworks, left from the previous day's new year's celebration can still be seen at our room. They also have a restaurant at the top floor, where you can get a wider view of the city while you eat and bands serenading. Though, we almost got banned since we were only wearing shorts and slippers which is a big no no in the restaurant.

Their infinity pool is also something that you can look forward when you're a guest in the hotel. It has a lounge area that even if you're getting a tan, you're still immerse in water, you can't feel the heat. Its actually one of the best things the hotel has to offer aside from the panoramic view of the city.

One thing we did not try was there breakfast buffet since I find the price so expensive, it can be worth it, but I really don't care eating Mc Donald's pancake with extra maple sauce for breakfast, that can be bought at JY square just located at the foot of the hills.

It's our new year's resolution to discover the beauty of Cebu and its surrounding islands.
